Water Meters

Turbine Meters

For high volume measurement

For high revenue installations, utilities depend on Master Meter Turbines for their expanded flow capabilities and streamlined flow patterns that insure maximum revenue and low head loss. High quality, rugged construction and unitized design provide long service life and low-cost maintenance.

Master Meter, Inc. 2", 3" and 4" MMT-S MMT Turbine Meter with Integral Strainer

AWWA Standard
Meets or exceeds the performance required by AWWA Standard C701, most recent revision, for Class II Turbine Meters.

Description
Single body houses AWWA Class II Turbine Meter and strainer, simplifying installation.

Main Case
Constructed of waterworks bronze, 81% copper composition, with flanged ends. Bronze register retaining ring and lid are standard. A downstream test plug is provided to allow field testing without removal of the assembly from the line.

Strainer
Strainer housing is integral to the main case, and houses an expanded stainless steel strainer element. Strainer screens debris from the line that could cause measuring element damage and conditions the flow velocity profile to improve meter accuracy and measuring element life.

Measuring Chamber
Meter chamber assembly and turbine are constructed of durable engineering plastics for extended service life.

Magnetic Drive
A reliable, direct magnetic drive provides linkage between measurement element and register. No intermediate gearing is required; no gearing is exposed to water.

Register
Standard direct read, DIALOG® Meter Reading System and Electrical Output registers are available. A six-wheel odometer is standard. Registration is available in gallons or cubic feet.

Register Sealing
Direct read and DIALOG® System registers are permanently sealed, with a tempered glass lens, stainless steel base and wrap-around gasket to prevent intrusion of dirt or moisture.

Test Circle
Large center sweep hand with 100 clearly indicated graduations per minimum registration unit, with each tenth marked.

Low Flow Detector
Center-mounted indicator with high sensitivity resulting from direct one to one linkage to the measuring element.

Master Meter, Inc. 1 1/2" to 12" MMT Turbine Meters

AWWA Standard
Meets or exceeds all sections of AWWA Standard C-701, Class II Turbines, most recent revision.

Description
Main cases of durable waterworks bronze for 1 1/2" to 8", and cost-effective cast iron for 10" and 12", provide performance, strength and endurance. A nylon inlet flow straightener conditions flows for measurement and screens larger debris. The meters' streamlined flow patterns provide low head loss, reducing the energy required for water delivery. All MMTs incorporate flanged ends.
High strength, precision molded polypropylene rotors insure high accuracy and long service life. MMT Turbines are designed to minimize the net gravitational and buoyant forces on the rotor. The low loads mean high accuracy at lower flows, extended flow ranges to allow meter downsizing without accuracy loss, and lower bearing wear for extended life.

Applications
Designed for cold, clean water utility and industrial installations where flow variations are in a 100:1 range.

Register Options
Standard: meter-mounted register with mechanical odometer.
DIALOG® System: for automatic electronic reading.
Electrical Output: for remote totalization.
Rate of Flow: for remote flow rate data or input to 4-20 mA output unit.

Registration Units
Registration available in U.S. gallons, cubic feet or cubic metres.

Register Sealing
All registers are permanently sealed, with a stainless steel base and wrap-around gasket to prevent intrusion of dirt or moisture. Direct read and DIALOG System registers incorporate a tempered glass lens.

Master Meter, Inc. 2" to 8" WT Turbine Meters

AWWA Standard
Exceed performance requirements of AWWA Standard C-701, Class II Turbines, most recent revision.

Description
For 2" to 8" high volume installations too cramped to accommodate a standard length turbine meter, the Master Meter WT offers high accuracy in a design 20 to 33 percent shorter than most turbines. The WT's cast iron, epoxy-coated main cases reduce meter cost while providing durability and corrosion resistance. A nylon inlet flow straightener conditions flows for measurement and screens larger debris. The meters' streamlined flow patterns provide low head loss, reducing the energy required for water delivery. All WTs incorporate flanged ends.

High strength, precision molded polypropylene rotors insure high accuracy and long service life. WT Turbines are designed to minimize the net gravitational and buoyant forces on the rotor. The low loads mean high accuracy at lower flows, extended flow ranges to allow meter downsizing without accuracy loss, and lower bearing wear for extended life.

Applications
Designed for cold, clean water utility and industrial installations where flow variations are in a 100:1 range, and where installations are too cramped to accommodate a standard length turbine.

Register Options
Standard: meter-mounted register with mechanical odometer.
DIALOG® System: for automatic electronic reading.
Electrical Output: for remote totalization.
Rate of Flow: for remote flow rate data or input to 4-20 mA output unit.
